Social Enterprises and the Empowerment of Women ConferenceMedgar Evers College (CUNY) School of Business and Escuela de Negocios Sociales (ENS) Global are committed to taking practical actions to support women's economic empowerment for our conference on Social Enterprises and the Empowerment of Women.The conference will be hosted by Dean School of Business Dr. JoAnn Rolle and Bernardo Javalquinto of ENS.
To help make this shared conference a reality, The School of Business and ENS Global will convene as a team in Medgar Evers campus Brooklyn NY from March 9 - 10, 2016. We will be collaborating on a two-day conference March 9th a panel discussion roundtable at our Entrepreneurial & Experiential Learning (EEL) Lab March 10th, 2016 and our Edison O Jackson Auditorium. The conference assembles more than 100 local and global experts, entrepreneurs, policy-makers, development practitioners, academics, and business and industry leaders to share their experiences and best practices on how to break down the barriers to women's economic empowerment and social enterprise. Participants, from the US, Chile and Kenya will identify ways to realize the economic potential of women, expand their access to markets, and strengthen economic social enterprise.
Through a high-profile roundtable on March 9th , conference participants  will provided key recommendations for action to advance women's economic and social enterprise opportunities with such topics as :
  • Work more closely with the private sector towards making markets more responsive to women as entrepreneurs and workers.
  • Strengthen coordination and partnership on social enterprise empowerment indicators and enhance their use in policy making, programming and monitoring.
It is our hope to have many collaborations with our partners, speakers and guest to improve the knowledge gateway whereby women and entrepreneurs can connect, share best business and other practices, and access up-to-date information that is essential to equal economic participation and improved livelihoods.
